Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said early Monday that Israel employed air-launched ballistic missiles in attacks targeting military sites across western and central Iran, confirming reports of explosions in Tehran, Tabriz, Isfahan and Karaj.
Israeli military claims
The Israeli military claimed its air force struck military sites belonging to the "Iranian regime" in western and central Iran. Iranian state television reported explosions in Tehran, Tabriz and Isfahan, while Tasnim reported blasts near Karaj and IRNA confirmed at least three explosions in Isfahan.
Regional escalation
The strikes came hours after Iran launched several missile barrages toward northern Israel, according to regional media. Those launches followed an Israeli airstrike on Beirut's southern suburbs, which Tel Aviv claimed targeted a Hezbollah command and planning center.
The IRGC serves as Iran's elite military force and maintains control over the country's ballistic missile program. Monday's exchanges represent the latest round of direct fire between the two countries.
