Israeli forces shot and killed two Palestinians, including a 16-year-old boy, in separate incidents in the occupied West Bank on Saturday evening. The Palestinian Health Ministry reported the fatalities in the towns of Qabatiya and Silah al-Harithiya near Jenin, with two others injured in separate clashes. Israeli forces withheld the teenager's body.

Israeli forces killed two Palestinians, one of them a child, during military operations in the occupied West Bank on Saturday evening, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry. The fatalities add to a mounting death toll in the territory since the war in Gaza began in October 2023.

Details of the Fatal Shootings

The ministry stated that a 16-year-old boy died from Israeli gunfire in the town of Qabatiya, southwest of Jenin in the northern West Bank. Israeli forces reportedly withheld the victim's body. Social media circulated a video purportedly showing the teen walking before being struck by heavy fire from soldiers. In a separate incident in the town of Silah al-Harithiya, also west of Jenin, a 22-year-old Palestinian man was killed. Witnesses said Israeli forces raided the town and deployed across the area.

Additional Injuries and Broader Context

The official Palestinian news agency Wafa reported two additional Palestinians were injured by Israeli gunfire near the Nur Shams refugee camp east of Tulkarem and in the town of Al-Ram north of Jerusalem. These incidents occur amidst ongoing military raids and heightened tensions across the West Bank.

Escalating Death Toll Since October 2023

According to Palestinian figures, Israeli forces and illegal settlers have killed at least 1,102 Palestinians in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem since October 2023, with nearly 11,000 injured and around 21,000 detained. This violence persists despite a landmark opinion from the International Court of Justice last July, which declared Israel's occupation of Palestinian territory illegal and called for the evacuation of all settlements.
