Israeli settlers blocked a main road in the central occupied West Bank on Sunday and attacked Palestinian vehicles with stones, according to local sources. Witnesses told Anadolu that a group of settlers closed the main entrance to the town of Deir Dibwan, east of Ramallah, intercepting Palestinian cars and throwing stones at them, smashing the windows of several vehicles. No injuries were reported in the attack.
Second stone-throwing incident
In a separate attack, Israeli settlers hurled stones at Palestinian vehicles at the northern entrance to the city of Al-Bireh in the central West Bank. Local sources said the settlers positioned themselves inside an Israeli military watchtower in the area and threw stones at passing cars, causing damage but no injuries. The attacks are part of a broader escalation of settler violence against Palestinians and their land since the Gaza war began in October 2023.
Violence surges in the West Bank
According to the Palestinian Health Ministry, at least 16 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli settlers in the West Bank since the start of 2026. Official figures from the Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission show that Israeli forces and settlers carried out a total of 1,819 attacks in March alone — 1,322 by army forces and 497 by settlers. Since October 2023, more than 1,150 Palestinians have been killed and thousands injured across the West Bank.
