At least 27 Daesh militants killed in simultaneous operations by Turkish military and the US-led coalition forces, military sources say
Turkish and US-led coalition forces struck Daesh targets north of the Syrian city of Aleppo, killing 27 militants.
According to Turkish military sources, some Daesh targets were detected in the north of Aleppo by reconnaissance and surveillance vehicles on Sunday.
The targets were hit by Turkish storm howitzers and MLRS batteries. US-led coalition fighter jets also conducted three simultaneous operations on the targets detected in northern Syria.
According to military sources, at least 27 Daesh terrroists have been killed in al-Bil, Sheikh Rih, Faidiyuah, Güzel Mezra, Tel Hishn and Baragitah areas near the Turkish border.
Five fortified defensive positions and two weapon emplacements used by the terror group were also destroyed in the operation.
Following the operation, Faydiyuah, Sheikh Rih and Tel Hishn areas went under the control of the Western-backed opposition group.
There has been a series of such strikes after the Turkish border town of Kilis, which lies just across the frontier from Daesh-controlled territory in Syria, was regularly struck by rockets in recent weeks.
