Media outlets, you join this call too

Some didn't understand. They failed to comprehend our call to Turkey, our aim, our concern, what we are trying to achieve.

They tried to water down our campaign when we said, “There is no other Turkey,” “You join this call too,” “You say something, too,” to push people to take action for Turkey, to unite and join forces against terrorism, the attacks aimed at our country.

They sought plots behind our campaign, tiny, intricate plans. With a problematic viewpoint, let alone seeing the truth, they tried to prevent those who wanted to see it.

They wanted to abuse our call to protect Turkey, which is being forced to its hands and knees through terrorism, whose social peace is paralyzed, where bombs are detonated in its capital, which is exposed to consecutive attacks at its borders and whose cities and streets are tried to be turned into battlefields.

Our call is supposedly a signal for the PKK, a search for reconciliation with the parallel structure, a plot for the schism of internal affairs!

We have witnessed unbelievable examples of mental obsession. We became upset and concerned once more. We have begun to worry that people, who can't come together even on such a common matter, have nothing left to say to this country's backbone.

A segment with their minds poisoned is confusing the minds of this country's people, blackening their hearts no less than the PKK. They are trying to sacrifice them to sectarian, front wars. They want to create a media, politics and social perception in accord with their own disrespect.

This is a very dangerous stance and will never be long-lasting. Those who are disturbed by a good intentioned campaign in which people from every segment of society express their common concerns, those who seek something behind it and fail to understand at least this, will not be able to make powerful statements, no matter how harsh they speak.

They have nothing to say for the common welfare of this country. They have no idea that will offer insight to this country's future. They have no background regarding the history of this country. I am talking about a circle that is swayed from one side to the other, depending on where the wind blows, who have their head high in the clouds, who, when the conjuncture changes, will point their guns at those who they currently defend.

A permanent, solid stance that leaves its mark will not form with their paranoia. Because they don't have the background to feed neither intellectual thinking, nor art or social memory.

We received intense social support yesterday. We received calls from all corners of Turkey. It made us proud; we saw that we are on the right track.

So what are we trying to do?

Let me explain once more for those who didn't understand or don't want to understand:

We made a call for a joint emotion, spirit of solidarity, determination to share, against terrorism, against those spreading the chaos in the region into Turkey, against those who want to oust the government through street terrorism to make the country unmanageable, against those who plan coups from within the system to surrender our country to the pro-tutelage mindset of the past.

We made a call to empower Turkey's backbone, to stand tall against conflict scenarios based on ethnicity and sects, to reinforce our country and cities' resistance, to fight those who want to adjust Turkey through bloodshed.

We said, “This country is our last land, our last safe haven.” We made a call to mobilize against those who want to spread the division and disintegration in Iraq, Syria, Lebanon and Yemen to our country, those who want to design our internal affairs in accordance with this.

We said, show your attitude, side with Turkey. Protect this proud country. Your silence is perceived as the country's weakness. Your silence is further encouraging those who shoot bullets at this country. So speak up!

We never had any agreement with those who shoot at this country and gift this country, and never will.

We set off on this path to speak with those who love Turkey. We aimed to express their common words.

Ever since its establishment, Yeni Şafak has been the main center for social awareness, patriotism, the nation concept and values. It never changed its stance. We want to continue our role as “the center” today, too and we will do so. Because Yeni Şafak represents Turkey's backbone. It represents its sensitivity, concern, love and dreams.

And today, it gives full support to those who have sacrificed their lives for this backbone.

Yeni Şafak will continue to take leading steps and open doors toward the future, unity, integrity, welfare and power of Turkey. We don't intend to fall into one-day deliriums to kill time. And neither do we intend on wasting time with those who oppose, beyond fixing misunderstandings with good intention.

Join in this call to express your love and support for our country, make your contribution. We are going through an extremely critical time threshold. We are either going to exist through growth or further separate. We are face-to-face with a multinational intervention aimed at separation and conflict. Then stand up, have your say and stand tall against close threats.

We are expecting you to contribute to our campaign with these emotions. We are making the same call to other media outlets, newspapers and TV networks with whom we at least share the same concerns.

Come and join us, let's stand shoulder-to-shoulder... This is the last fortress, the last safe haven. For the last century, this has been the final safe haven not only for us, but for the entire region.

Let us join our forces against those who want to destroy our homes. Let us mobilize the entire country for this awareness...
