Nov. 1 is not only a general election.

It is not a choice we will make among political parties.

It is not the matter of the number of seats a party will secure, how the government will be formed, the kind of cabinet or which party's election promises will be effective.

Of course these are the requirements of our democracy and they will happen. Our nation is going to shape the structure of the new ruling power with the preference it will make. But Nov. 1 is not going to be an ordinary election. Our votes will in no way be limited to the abovementioned alone.

This is because Turkey is not going through an ordinary election process. Because an extraordinary quake is shaking the entire region, our immediate environment, disintegrating and tearing it to sheds, causing separation. And this disintegration, this wind of disaster is pushing our borders in waves, visiting our cities.

Nov. 1 will not take place in Turkey's political history as an ordinary election. Because the choice we make will not be limited to Turkey. It will impact the entire region, and possibly largely shape it, too.

New political identity, homeland defense

The decision we make will be one that, much beyond choosing a political party, will direct history. It will be about what direction our country will take from now on and the kind of Turkey that will shape.

After this stage, political identities no longer mean much either. Maybe after these elections, completely different political identities, political movements will form, with classic political identities and stances changing shape.

We are going to commence a much more fundamental identity battle.

This is going to be a homeland-based identity battle.

We will experience a ruthless resistance, there will be a ruthless defense of the homeland.

It is going to be a challenge aimed at existing, walking toward the future, growth, being local and gaining strength. Nov. 1 is probably going to be the turning point of the focused start to the greatest homeland defense of the Republic's history.

Turkey is clearly under attack

For the last three years, we have been going through an ever more destructive coup process.

We are experiencing multinational interventions aimed at eliminating the leaders of a strong Turkey. We are going through a period in which efforts are being made to wipe out those being publicly targeted through unbelievable set-ups and ambushes.

We are witnessing sinister attempts aimed at minimizing common areas, defaming those who are making efforts, destroying social trust and solidarity ties.

We are going through a clear war period set on the Ukraine and Egypt examples. Turkey, in this sense, is under a clear threat.

The Gezi revolt, which was an attempt to turn Turkey into Ukraine, the Dec. 17 coup attempt, which was an attempt to turn the country into Egypt, are now followed by the terrorism threat to turn Turkey into Syria.

Those who were left here and there in the Gezi project were gathered to attempt a coup through the streets. It was an outside intervention, an internal revolt and betrayal.

Dec. 17 was a very well-planned, systemic coup attempt, revealing that an organization we once believed to be conservative was actually a Trojan Horse placed inside the state and society.

A greater threat is on the way

This was an attempt aimed at hanging the prime minister, placing thousands behind bars, turning into enemies a major portion of the society. Gallows were going to be set up, leading to the gravest sin of our political history, opening another page of shame. In this sense, Dec. 17 was a domestic invasion attempt.

As those dirty files unravel, we are watching in surprise, the kind of betrayal network that was woven, the kind of foreign intelligence operation we have been exposed to, how “Gurkhas" were raised among us to bring Turkey down to its hands and knees.

Our country left behind these grave depressions. It managed to overcome them. It withstood all the destructive winds and betrayals. Our people's foresight and political mind knew to negate these efforts.

However, we may be facing a new situation, a greater threat. Syriafication, Iraqification, Yemenification projects are now being carried out for Turkey.

The other side of our borders are being turned into anti-Turkey fronts. Fronts are being opened within our borders, on own lands. We are encountering the most painful betrayal of our political history.

This partnership is now hitting the capital

Nations that make history, the state mind and social memory will perceive these messages at the right time and before it is late. This is what making history is about and this is how nations remain standing. Since this is known, with the latest attacks they have been targeting particularly this history-making strength of our country and destroy their boogey men. This is why they are carrying out the war through them.

The taller we stand, the more care we take to be local and national, the more steps we take in this direction, the more attacks we face and will continue to face.

The partners of these attacks on the inside are now openly using “civil war" discourse. Affiliated media are using their pens like Kalashnikovs, shooting bullets at the country. The oligarchs of the old who used to shape the government are partnering with terrorist organizations and hitting the capital. The headquarters of terrorist organizations have relocated from the mountains to the cities, with company head offices or media offices turned into terrorist headquarters.

The ethnic identity, sectarian identity and all other marginal identities are being pushed to the front lines in this great attack.

It is not a matter of election, it is a matter of Turkey

Our country is facing the greatest operation of separation and conflict since the intervention that led to the collapse of the Ottoman Empire. We are facing a great threat presented through religious movements, companies, organizations, the street and organizations that have infiltrated the state. The project that is implemented through hostility toward President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and the Justice and Development Party (AK Party), is actually an attack against Turkey's great walk, its confrontation.

Nov. 1 will serve as a means to negate Syriafication efforts. It is not a matter of elections, but a matter of Turkey.

Our nation, which was able to rise again after the Crusades, the Mongol Invasion and World War I, will spoil this big game as well.

The backbone will make history once more

This is why Nov. 1 is a homeland defense.

We owe it to this country. We need to protect this country; keeping it clear of any harm is a duty that exceeds all our political identities.

Turkey's backbone will protect its country and write history once again.

Examples of those who take place on the wrong side of history are also written in the pages of history. This is the struggle prevent our country from falling into the hands of custodians again and give the trust to the one that is worthy of it.

This is why our battle is the Last War of Independence.
