The UK's complicity in crimes of genocide

Defining the UK's relationship with Israel through the word "support" also leads to errors in assessment. Because the UK, whether covertly or openly, is complicit in almost all of Israel's war crimes. Therefore, the relationship between the UK and Israel is not one of support but of complicity. We have previously shared three separate examples from different areas regarding this complicity. A politician like David Cameron, who has occupied the offices of both Foreign Secretary and Prime Minister, threatened the Chief Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court, which is conducting investigations into Israel's war crimes. Statements that the UK would withdraw its support for the court were also reflected in the press. Pro-Palestine protests were banned in the UK, and participants were treated as terrorists. In addition to these, the UK did not hesitate to arm Israel despite ongoing war crimes. Likewise, the facilities of the British base in Cyprus were placed at Israel's disposal. The interventions of the UK and the US regarding the International Court of Justice cases cannot be explained simply as support for Israel. These also constitute complicity in Israel's war crimes.

As will be recalled, after October 7, 2023, the US adopted a much more aggressive stance, approving all of Israel's war crimes. US secretaries of state continuously visited Israel and did not hesitate to pose for cheerful photos with Zionist soldiers. After October 7, US politicians also exerted extraordinary pressure on international institutions to protect Israel. The whole world now knows that these pressures continue. Within this framework, the pressures of the US and the UK on prosecutors, rapporteurs, and powerful intellectuals have intensified, and these individuals have even been pushed out of the system. They have faced many restrictions in their daily lives. Of course, such pressures have rendered the system built after World War II inoperable. The UN is one of the most important institutions rendered inoperable. Yet the UN formed the backbone of a system centered on the UK and the US. It is also known that Germany is a serious source of pressure on existing international institutions in favor of Israel. Germany has done whatever is necessary to prevent European-centered institutions from taking any decision against Israel.

In parallel with the destructive pressure of powerful figures representing the UK and the US on international institutions, famous Zionists like Itamar Ben-Gvir also do whatever they can to render international institutions dysfunctional. Ben-Gvir most recently appeared after the attack on the UN building in the West Bank. He went to the UN building, entered it, and said they had expelled humanitarian aid workers. It was clear from his demeanor that he was proud of doing this. Of course, this is not Ben-Gvir's first attack on international institutions. For this reason, we cannot see the latest attack as the uncontrolled behavior of a reckless individual. This is not an example of aggression that can be explained by coincidence. The attack on the UN cannot be explained by the psychological disorders of extremist figures like Itamar Ben-Gvir and Bezalel Smotrich either. These individuals, and those who organize the attacks of settler groups like Daniella Weiss, are, to put it plainly, within the same framework as David Cameron and Tony Blair. Even photos showing Tony Blair alongside famous genociders like Ariel Sharon are sufficient to demonstrate the strong connections between them.

The powerful steps taken by the UK and the US, in coordination, to render international institutions dysfunctional are a clear message to Israel. The representatives of these two countries are also aware of their own power. They know that Israeli genociders are benefiting to the fullest extent from the power of the UK and the US. It would be naive to think that Israelis would not enter through the door opened as the British and Americans render international institutions dysfunctional. Therefore, explaining Itamar Ben-Gvir's recklessness through the power of Israel and the Jews would be a serious error of judgment. The US, the UK, and Germany are rendering international institutions dysfunctional; the Zionists are entering through the open door and effectively dismantling them. This solidarity between them is not limited to today. After the British mandate was established in Palestine, the relationship between the British state and Zionist organizations went far beyond mere support. The British prepared the conditions for settler colonization, and the Zionists carried out the actual destruction. This pattern of relationship continues to this day.
