Beşiktaş set to clinch Super Lig title

Istanbul-based Beşiktaş hope to claim the Spor Toto Super Lig football title as soon as this weekend.

On top of the top Turkish division with 76 points, Besiktas are six points ahead of Istanbul rivals Fenerbahce with two matches left to play.

A draw at home, at Vodafone Arena against Osmanlispor on Sunday, would be enough for Beşiktaş to win the league title this season. The match will kick off at 7 p.m. local time (1600GMT).

Fenerbahce will host the Ankara club Genclerbirligi in Istanbul on Sunday.

The match at Ulker Stadium Fenerbahce Sukru Saracoglu Sports Complex will start at 7 p.m. local time (1600GMT).

Meanwhile, five teams will look to avoid the last two remaining spots of the relegation zone.

Mersin Idmanyurdu were relegated to a lower division, PTT 1st League, as soon as late April.

Medicana Sivasspor are in 17th position with 29 points where Eskisehirspor are 16th with 30 points. In front are Kayserispor and Gaziantepspor with 33 points and Caykur Rizespor with 34.

Medicana Sivasspor will play away against Kayserispor on Saturday. If Medicana Sivasspor lose the match, they will be relegated.

Çaykur Rizespor will meet Gaziantepspor at home also on Saturday.

Eskisehirspor will host Medipol Basaksehir on Saturday. If Eskisehirspor lose the game, they may be relegated too.

All these matches will kick off at 7 p.m. (1600GMT) on Saturday.

Friday's game at 8.00 p.m. local time (1700GMT) pits Antalyaspor against Trabzonspor.
