Italian Marco Verratti, 28, has made 26 appearances for PSG this season

A midfielder for the Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) football team tested positive for the coronavirus, the French club announced on Friday.

“Following the last Sars-Cov2 PCR test, Marco Verratti is confirmed positive,” PSG wrote on Twitter.

"He will therefore respect isolation and is subject to the appropriate health protocol," it added.

The 28-year-old Italian has made 26 appearances for PSG this season.
