108 officers out of 117 police officers have been detained into the 'parallel state' operations, said Istanbul chief public prosecutor's office.
The number of officers, who will face warrants of detention, rose up to 117 after two more officers, were detained by the Organized Crime Unit during the operation concerning illegally bugging phones. In its previous statement on Tuesday, Istanbul chief public prosecutor's office said that 115 police officers would be detained.
The suspects have been detained in two different Istanbul-based operations, launched by the units of the Organized Crime Unit and Counter-Terrorism.
One of operations aimed at officers, accused of involvement in espionage and illegal wire-tapping during a corruption probe, which targetted Erdogan and his close allies.
The second operation was carried out against the officers, who were investigating fake terror organisation, dubbed Selam-Tevhit, but their actual aim was spying.
Dozens of high-ranking police officers are among the detainees. The suspected figutives are claimed to be sresigned to police in Izmir, in the West, on Friday. Nine suspects are still at large, including Istanbul's former Intelligence Unit chief, Erol Demirhan, who called Hakan Fidan, at the time the Undersecretary of the National Intelligence, to testify during the February 7 crisis.
After the crisis, Demirhan was dismissed from his post along with Yurt Atagün, the former chief of Istanbul counter-terrorism unit, who was detained in Wednesday's operation against officers, accused of involving in probe over the fake terror group, Selam-Tevhid.
Atagün had planned to detain Turkey's spymaster, at that time the Undersecretary of the National Intelligence, or MIT, on February 7 2013.
