Seven Daesh terrorist suspects, including an enforcer and a terrorist leader detained in raid on six addresses in eastern Elazığ province
As many as seven suspects, including the so-called leader and an enforcer of the Daesh terrorist organization, were detained in the eastern Turkish province of Elazığ.
The detains followed the raid conducted by anti-terror police to six addresses.
The suspects were discovered to have recently entered Turkey from Syria. During the operation also a large number of documents were seized.
Turkey has been fighting against terrorist groups, particularly Daesh, in an effort to neutralize threats that specifically target Turkey. The country has been a transit point for foreigners trying to enter Syria from Turkey or Turkey from Syria illegally to join various terrorist groups.
Turkish Presidency Spokesman Ibrahim Kalın previously at the end of April said that as many as 41,000 people have been banned from entering Turkey. More than 3,300 were expelled due to their suspected links with Daesh terrorists.
Also, recent Turkish military figures showed that up to now around 2,000 terrorists were killed in Syria and Iraq between August 2015 and May 2016.
