Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan welcomed Wednesday’s ceasefire between Washington and Tehran, expressing hope that the agreement will be fully implemented without giving room to provocations. He congratulated Pakistan and other actors involved in the process and reaffirmed Türkiye’s commitment to raising the voice of peace.
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan stated that Türkiye views positively the ceasefire announced overnight in the US‑Israeli war with Iran, which had turned the region into a “fire zone” since February 28. “We hope that the ceasefire will be fully implemented on the ground without providing any opportunity for possible provocations and sabotage,” the president wrote on the Turkish social media platform NSosyal.
Praise for Mediators and Call for Lasting Peace
Erdoğan congratulated all parties that contributed to reaching the truce, especially friendly and brotherly Pakistan. He expressed his sincere wish that a geography long plagued by wars, conflicts, tensions and oppression will soon attain peace, tranquility and stability. “Türkiye will continue to raise the voice of peace in its region and in the world,” he added.
Türkiye’s Commitment to Diplomacy
The president’s remarks underscore Ankara’s consistent support for de‑escalation and dialogue. Following the two‑week pause agreed after intense Pakistani‑mediated negotiations, Türkiye has urged all sides to avoid any action that could undermine the fragile truce and to work toward a permanent political solution that ends the suffering of civilian populations across the Middle East.
