Gul refutes reports on establishing a new party

The Presidential Press Center said in a statement on Wednesday, '' Mr. President had never had the thought of forming a new party."

A Turkish daily claimed on Wednesday,July 17, that Abdullah Gul was excluded from ruling AK Party, of which he is one of the founders, and will continue his political future by forming a new party.

Following the published news, the presidential office immediately released a press statement refuting the report about forming a new party.

''A newspaper publishing a story with the title ''We were excluded /Gul also understood'', is completely unrealistic,'' the statement specified.

The statement also said, "Mr. President, who already has shared his thoughts on the matters alleged in the news on several occasions with the public, had never had the thought of forming a new party.''
