Istanbul waterlogged from heavy rainfall

Different parts of the city witnessed heavy rainfall early Saturday morning, making for a soggy Saturday and disrupting normal life, transportation schedules and inundating some homes and work places.

Heavy rainfall saturated many areas of Istanbul, throwing normal routines into unexpected mess and frustration in transportation.

Many roads, lanes and some low-lying areas in the city were immersed under knee-deep water due to hours of ceaseless rains since the early morning.

Some vehicles could plow through the rainwater, while some homes and businesses were reportedly flooded.

Large puddles on the streets due to the overflow of manholes, caused difficult moments for pedestrians and drivers.

According to the general directorate of Meteorology, the rain fall will continue for a few hours.
