No probe for 'parallel' elements, army says
The Turkish General Staff dismissed reports that measures against what PM calls 'parallel structure' in the army have been taken during a National Security Council meeting on April 30.
Reports that military officials discussed how to fight members of parallel structure, nested in the armed forces were groundless, said the statement on the General Staff's official website.
The statement also denied that a probe was launched against the structure in the army and some personnel would be discharged from the army at the Supreme Military Council to be held in August as a part of the 'measures.'
'All procedures have been followed within the bounds of regulations and institutional practices,' the statement added.
Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan has vowed to wipe out elements loyal to US-based preacher Gulen from the police and the judiciary after the December 17 probe which has sent shockwaves to his cabinet
