The disagreement between two senior PKK figures over the organization's increasingly unsuccessful operations in the southeast has divided the group
A dispute has emerged between the so-called top level executives of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) terrorist organization as senior PKK figures Cemil Bayık and Murat Karayılan are discovered to have a critical disagreement over the terror operations carried out in the Yüksekova town of southeastern Hakkari province.
The dispute further intensified after PKK terrorist Yılmaz Kürdo, codenamed Yusuf Saydut, who was supported by Cemil Bayık, fled the region during the operation.
Karayılan sided with the terrorists who started to accuse those supporting Bayık of cowardice as Bayık is considered to be responsible of the failed terrorist activities in the Yüksekova region, according to intelligence.
Karayılan and his supporters believe that Yüksekova is of key importance for the terrorist organization as they are able to hide from security forces and stock weapons there.
The PKK, listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and the EU, resumed its 30-year armed campaign against the Turkish state in July last year.
Since then, Turkey has been conducting both air and ground operations against PKK terrorists in southeastern Turkey and Northern Iraq.
More than 5,000 terrorists have been neutralized both in Turkey and Northern Iraq, according to the recent official Turkish figures.
