Türkiye's premier maritime event TEKNOFEST Blue Homeland opened Thursday at the Golcuk Naval Shipyard Command in the northwestern province of Kocaeli, showcasing the nation's naval power and technological independence through Aug. 23 with 37 naval platforms on display for defense industry enthusiasts.
Warships and submarines
The exhibition features the TCG Anadolu — Türkiye's largest warship and flagship of the fleet — alongside major surface combatants including the TCG Barbaros, TCG Salihreis, TCG Turgutreis and TCG Kemalreis. Attendees can also inspect the TCG Derya, TCG Tufan and TCG Istanbul, while several submarine platforms remain open for viewing alongside the historic presidential yacht TCG Savarona and the Yavuz museum ship, which offer glimpses into naval history.
Demonstrations and competitions
The event's program encompasses technology competitions, sporting contests, workshops and exhibitions, complemented by dynamic naval and aerial demonstrations. Special operations units from Türkiye’s Underwater Offense (SAT) and Underwater Defense (SAS) commands will conduct live demonstrations, while unmanned underwater vehicle displays and sprint swimming competitions provide additional attractions for visitors throughout the week-long program.
Organizational framework
Organized jointly by the National Defense Ministry and the Turkish Technology Team Foundation (T3), the maritime-focused event forms a key component of TEKNOFEST 2026.
