Turkey to set up camp inside Syria
Turkish humanitarian aid foundation Sadakatas announced Friday that it has set up a new refugee camp with a capacity of 500 people, in the Syrian town of Idlib, seven kilometres from the Turkish border.
Cevdet Hasbal, deputy chairman of the Sadakatas foundation, told that due to the civil war in Syria, many people are forced to flee their homes every day.
"With this refugee camp, a new habitat for Syrian refugees will be created," Hasbal said. The Sadakatas Foundation, based in Turkey, works to help refugees in conflict around the Middle East.
The camp includes ten tents, a kitchen-dining hall, classrooms, laundry rooms, prayer rooms, a kids' park, and workrooms for Syrian women. It was built in six months.
"The 500,000 liras ($235,000) worth of refugee camp has been handed to the refugees," Hasbal said.
Aside from building camps, the Sadakatas foundation provides 25,000 loaves of bread to Syrian refugees every day.
Turkey has excellent cooperation with the international and national aid organizations for migration, being strategically placed as both a transit country and a destination country for refugees.
