Turkish Airlines achieved $6.95 billion in total revenue during the third quarter of 2025, representing a 4.9% year-on-year increase. The flag carrier transported 27.2 million passengers, reaching the highest third-quarter passenger count in its partnership history despite industry challenges.
Türkiye's national flag carrier Turkish Airlines has reported $6.95 billion in total revenue for the third quarter of 2025, marking a 4.9% increase compared to the same period last year. The airline achieved this growth despite facing industry-wide challenges including trade tensions and engine-related operational issues, demonstrating the resilience of its business model.
Record Passenger Numbers
The airline transported 27.2 million passengers during the July-September period, achieving the highest third-quarter passenger count in its partnership history. This performance extends Turkish Airlines' uninterrupted growth streak to 18 consecutive quarters, with passenger capacity increasing by 8.2% year-on-year and reaching 43% above pre-pandemic levels.
Revenue Growth and Profitability Challenges
The carrier's strong passenger operations drove total revenues to approximately $7 billion, with passenger revenues specifically increasing by 6.1% as demand responded positively to expanded capacity. However, operating profit declined by 21.3% to $1.1 billion compared to the same quarter in 2024, reflecting pressure from declining unit revenues and persistent cost challenges across the aviation sector.
Year-to-Date Performance
Net income for the third quarter decreased by 10.7% to $1.4 billion amid the challenging operating environment. For the first nine months of 2025, Turkish Airlines recorded cumulative revenues of $17.8 billion, representing a 4.5% increase compared to the same period in the previous year, maintaining its position as a consistently performing carrier in the global aviation market.
