Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Qatar's Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani held talks Saturday on means of halting an Israeli military offensive in the Gaza Strip.
Erdogan made a telephone call to Sheikh Tamim during which they discussed the "grave Israeli violations in the Gaza Strip and means of halting the Israeli killing machine", the official Qatari news agency reported.
Saturday's conversation came following a phone call between Qatari Foreign Minister Khalid al-Aattiyah and his Turkish counterpart Ahmet Davutoglu to discuss the situation in the Gaza Strip.
Israel has launched a devastating military offensive against the Gaza Strip since July 7 with the ostensible aim of halting Palestinian rocket fire.
At least 321 Palestinians have been killed - and more than 2290 injured, many seriously - since Israel's military operation began early last week.
In the same period, Three Israeli has been killed in the hostilities.
On Thursday night, Israel stepped up its offensive to include ground operations, sending troops into the embattled coastal enclave.
The military operation, dubbed "Operation Protective Edge," is the self-proclaimed Jewish state's third major offensive against the blockaded Gaza Strip - home to some 1.8 million Palestinians - in the last six years.
