Türkiye and Kazakhstan ink 13 deals during Erdoğan visit

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev oversaw the signing of 13 agreements spanning investment, energy, defence, education, media, and infrastructure. The deals include a “Declaration of Eternal Friendship” and a joint venture for ANKA drone production.
Türkiye and Kazakhstan have signed 13 bilateral agreements during President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s official visit to Astana, covering sectors from energy and defence to education and media. The deals were signed following the sixth meeting of the Türkiye-Kazakhstan High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council at the Independence Palace, with both leaders overseeing the ceremony.
Friendship declaration and key deals
Erdoğan and Tokayev personally signed the “Declaration of Eternal Friendship and Partnership” between the two nations. Other agreements include a mutual investment promotion and protection deal, a cultural centres protocol, and an amended legal assistance agreement on civil matters. In education, the two sides agreed on a joint scholarship programme and the opening of two Turkish Maarif Foundation schools in Kazakhstan. In infrastructure, TAV Holding signed an investment agreement for Almaty International Airport, while YDA İnşaat secured financing for hospital construction projects.
Energy, defence, and media cooperation
KazMunayGas and Turkish Petroleum Corporation signed two energy deals covering oil field services and joint oil and gas project development. In defence, the sides established a joint venture for the production and maintenance of ANKA unmanned aerial vehicles. The Astana International Financial Centre and Istanbul Financial Center signed an MOU, while Kazakhstan’s presidential TV and radio complex and Turkish public broadcaster TRT agreed on broadcasting cooperation. The agreements reflect deepening strategic ties between two Turkic nations, with bilateral trade approaching 10 billion and a target of 15 billion.
