The terrorist organization planted explosives targeting military vehicles in the province of Diyarbakır
Two people were killed on Tuesday in an attack by the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) terrorists who detonated handmade explosives that they planted on the road while military vehicles were passing by in Turkey’s southeastern province of Diyarbakır.
The civilians killed by the PKK were driving the vehicles, according to reports.
The explosion occurred near Göksü village, where a road construction of the Diyarbakır-Bismil highway was ongoing. The road has been closed to traffic due to the damage caused by the explosion.
The PKK is listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the European Union and the United States.
The PKK has been conducting armed violence in the southeastern part of Turkey since 1984. More than 40,000 people, mostly civilians, have been killed in the three-decade long conflict.
