Greens co-chair Cem Özdemir makes scandalous statements, requesting Turkish teachers be banned in German schools
Cem Özdemir, Green Party’s prime ministerial candidate in Germany, attempts to intervene in Turkey’s domestic affairs, as well as making insolent and treacherous statements about Turkey, in hope of winning the 2017 German federal election which will be held on Sept. 24.
Özdemir, doing his best to escalate the political crisis between Germany and Turkey with his anti-Turkey statements and comments on President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan at every opportunity, this time targeted the Turkish language teachers in Germany. Özdemir in a statement to the weekly “Die Zeit,”said that he opposes teachers coming from Turkey to teach in German schools.
ÖZDEMİR KNOWS NOTHING ABOUT FREEDOM
Known with his anti- Turkey sentiments, notorious Cem Özdemir, once again revealed his repressive mindset which has nothing to with freedom, by requesting that the teachers coming from Turkey giving Turkish language education in German schools be banned from teaching. Özdemir has been criticized as he said he does not want President Erdoğan’s so-called authoritarian world view and nationalistic history approach to be taught in German classrooms. Describing the teachers coming from Turkey as having a “backward mindset,” Özdemir blatantly revealed who the real “backward” one is with his discourse.
A LAZY STUDENT
Noting that teachers have a great influence on students, Özdemir said that he himself was a lazy student of immigrant origin. “I would not have my career today without my efforts of my teachers,” he added. On his own school years, Özdemir said: “The teacher at the Turkish language course that I took in the afternoon did not want to be asked too many questions regarding religion and the state. Children, however, should be allowed to ask as many questions as they want.”
Currently, 508 teachers designated by the Turkish Ministry of Education to teach, and around 1,000 religious officials have been assigned by the Turkish government to work in mosques in Germany.
