Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu and Rex Tillerson spoke over the phone
Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu discussed Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan with his U.S. counterpart on Thursday, according to diplomatic sources.
The sources, who spoke on condition of anonymity due to restrictions on speaking with the media, said Mevlut Çavuşoğlu and Rex Tillerson spoke over the phone.
The telephone call came after Çavuşoğlu's trip to Iraq on Wednesday.
U.S. Secretary of Defense James Mattis was in Turkey on Wednesday.
