US news report claims Special Forces will assassinate two high-profile figures in Iran

According to a report featured prominently in Milliyet newspaper, a striking statement made by the US Special Operations Command was published by the US-based news site AXIOS. Although under normal circumstances this statement might be evaluated as having the news value of a manipulative report, if this occurs before a second highly probable war between Iran and the US, I suppose it would serve a perception operation! This is because, following US President Trump's deployment of two massive aircraft carriers from the US Navy—the USS ABRAHAM LINCOLN anchoring in the Middle East and the USS Gerald R. Ford, considered a colossal force of the US, reaching the Mediterranean on Friday afternoon—the question "When will President Trump push the button for an attack on Tehran?" is frequently debated in the international public opinion. A plan discussed behind closed doors in Washington, a nuclear proposal prepared in Tehran… According to the US press, the latest option presented to Trump could radically alter the balance in the region. In the shadow of all these uncertainties, the US-based news site Axios has made a striking claim. While there is talk of the possibility of a diplomatic space, however limited, emerging in nuclear negotiations between Washington and Tehran, a plan regarding an assassination to be carried out by the US Special Operations Command, targeting Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and his son Mojtaba Khamenei, awaits approval from US President Trump. Is Trump's moment of decision approaching? What decision he will make remains unknown?

IF THE IRANIANS PLAY GAMES, THEY WILL TRY OUR PATIENCE!

A senior US official who spoke to Axios said the Trump administration is prepared to consider a proposal allowing for "symbolic" or "very limited" uranium enrichment, provided that Iran leaves no path to a nuclear weapon. This statement indicates that there might be a small window for negotiation between the red lines drawn by the US and Iran, while it is also noted that military options directly targeting Iran's Supreme Leader have been presented to Trump simultaneously. The senior US official stated, "President Trump is ready to accept a concrete agreement that he can politically defend at home. They keep missing the window of opportunity. If they play games, they will try our patience."

US AND ISRAELI OFFICIALS STATED IN THEIR ASSESSMENT TO AXIOS THAT IT IS A HIGHLY LIKELY POSSIBILITY, NOT TO BE OVERLOOKED, THAT TRUMP COULD MAKE A DECISION TO ATTACK AS EARLY AS THIS WEEKEND!

Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said in a statement on Friday that Iran's written proposal, expected to be presented to Washington, would be finalized within two or three days. Some of Trump's advisors, however, are urging patience. According to these figures, as time progresses and the US military buildup increases, Trump's bargaining power also grows. Yet even some of Trump's closest confidants admit they do not know when or how the President will make a decision. A senior advisor said, "The President hasn't made a decision to attack yet. I know this because we haven't attacked. Maybe he never will. Maybe he'll wake up tomorrow and say, 'Okay, enough is enough.' We are in a state of uncertainty."

'ASSASSINATION PLOT AGAINST KHAMENEI IS ON THE TABLE'

On the other hand, according to Axios' report, the most striking scenario among the military options presented to Trump by the Pentagon is an assassination plan directly targeting Ali Khamenei and his son Mojtaba, who is seen as his potential successor. A senior advisor close to Trump, who wished to remain anonymous, outlined the scope of the plan, saying, "We are ready for every scenario. One of the options involves eliminating Khamenei, his son, and the mullahs. Moreover, they are working meticulously on this operation to leave no room for error."

'PLAN WAS PRESENTED TO TRUMP WEEKS AGO'

A second source confirmed that the plan targeting Khamenei and his son was presented to Trump weeks ago. It was stated that this scenario is not just a theoretical draft but a concrete option that the Pentagon has detailed according to different possibilities. Another senior advisor said, "Trump is keeping all his options open. A decision to attack could come at any moment."

US FRONT: "ZERO ENRICHMENT" — "THEY ARE LIVING IN HELL" — "THE BALL IS NOW IN IRAN'S COURT" — "IAEA INVOLVED"

A senior US official said that Witkoff and Kushner conveyed to the Iranian side that Trump's position is "zero enrichment on Iranian soil." However, the same official stated that if the proposal includes "small, symbolic enrichment" and provides detailed proof that it poses no threat, the US would examine it. A source close to the talks said that Omani and Qatari mediators have recently communicated to both sides that any agreement must be framed in a way that allows both parties to declare victory and be acceptable to Gulf countries and Israel. Araqchi also stated, "It must be a win-win agreement. That's the difficult part. It must cover the interests and concerns of both sides."

Araqchi said the draft proposal would be conveyed to the US after approval from the political leadership in Tehran. He stated that the plan would include "political commitments and technical measures" to guarantee that Iran's nuclear program serves only peaceful purposes. The US official emphasized that the proposal must be "very detailed" and prove that Iran's nuclear program is "harmless." He said, "We will see what they bring us in writing. That's how we'll understand how serious they are. The ball is in their court."

Meanwhile, Araqchi said that International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Chief Rafael Grossi is involved in the negotiations and has proposed "technical measures" to prevent Iran's program from being directed toward military purposes. It was stated that these measures could include steps such as the return of UN inspectors to Iran with strong monitoring authority, and the removal or dilution of 450 kilograms of highly enriched uranium buried underground at Iranian facilities during US and Israeli bombardments.
