The "dictator" who can be freely insulted

There has never been a local media order or journalism mentality throughout the history of Turkish Republic as we have today. It is always the case that the elected governments, Prime Ministers, the elected in general or their social base have been made a target but its level has never advanced to such a degree today. No way! Such period has never been experienced before.

After the establishment of the military tutelage, neither ideas nor thoughts have been freely expressible. With parallel to this, marginal ideas have been drifted to the center. Especially in opposition to AKP administration, as long as the central political language and journalism style desperately remained, marginal ideologies were dragged into the center. Hate, disrespect, and plots have been made the daily topics.

When Erdogan states that there is no moment in history where the level of insult is gross, he is actually right. Likewise Menderes, Demirel, Özal and Erbakan was heavily assaulted and labeled as ''dictator, one man'' titles but even more than the whole sum of these insults have been used to propagandize against Erdogan. With the increase of media organs and the development of the internet, an incessant movement of insulting has been established. Erdogan who won every election he was running for and thus creating despair among his competitors, led only to increase their hate.

In addition because Erdogan would not treat this kind of media as normal media since it has political hostility against him.,,,

At least 10 among the daily published newspapers in Turkey devoted themselves to insult the Prime Minister. Such is a media market in Turkey. These are 10 newspapers, which are published every morning and compete in insulting one another and coming up with more gross and disrespectful headlines for their readers the next day. The rest are those, which contain 20 percent of insults and false news reports and their journalists are supposedly in ''natural'' opposition positions. Indeed, there is no such time in history as we have today. There won''t be so. This service is especially designed for the ''dictator'' Tayyip Erdogan.

Let us leave behind the republican meetings or the process of closing political parties or even so the December 17 incident and turn our attention to the last 3 days. Let us see how the Prime Minister, who is accused of being a ''dictator'', ''despot'', or ''the only man'' has been treated on the media.

Let us understand how the ''only man'' who won every election he ran for and yet confined himself to a three term parliament membership suppressed the media in their headlines.

''Not to Çankaya but Bakirköy''. ''The dictator judge''. ''The seizure of anger''. ''This made a scandal''. ''The escape from the judiciary''. ''Turkey has never seen such a shameless thing''.

The other''s headline was affixed with Hitler''s portrait: Thus said the dictator.

As for journalists, the mildest one I have heard is that the Prime Minister, whom they called ''Tayyip'', actually need to get treatment.
