Turkey is expected to request the deportation of Fethullah Gülen, the leader of the Gülen Movement, from the United States
Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, who will pay a visit to United Stated in April, is also expected to request Fethullah Gülen's extradition from the U.S.
During his visit, Çavuşoğlu will meet with U.S Secretary of State John Kerry to discuss the Syrian crisis and the struggle with the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, or ISIL.
Çavuşoğlu will also talk about the agreement, which was signed between the United States and Turkey to train and equip moderate Syrian opposition fighters.
Gülen is accused of being behind the coup attempt against AK Party's government administration under Recep Tayyip Erdoğan which was exposed on December 17th, 2013. Since then, investigations in 2014 and 2015 had been launched into the parallel group in Turkey, which had led to the arrests of tens of police officers and judicial members.
As a result, Gülen is now a "wanted man' by the police in Turkey. In order to bring him to be held accountable in Turkey for forming a criminal organization, the illegal parallel group, which has also been accused of wiretapping the President and high officials, Turkey is now requesting his deportation from the U.S.
