Liverpool, Barcelona, Juventus, Borussia Dortmund, Paris Saint-Germain top their leagues after weekend schedule

After the latest games in the top five European football leagues over the weekend, Liverpool, Barcelona, Juventus, Borussia Dortmund, and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) are in the top positions in their respective leagues.

In the English Premier League, Liverpool beat Tottenham 2-1 to remain at the top spot. The runner-up Manchester City defeated Fulham 2-0 to win seven matches in a row. They are currently at second place with another game at hand.

The leader Liverpool reached 79 points followed by Manchester City with 77 points.

In the Spanish La Liga, leader Barcelona beat Espanyol 2-0 with the two goals by Lionel Messi to reach 69 points.

The runner-up Atletico Madrid defeated Alaves 4-0 while Real Madrid beat Huesca 3-2.

The leader Barcelona were followed by Atletico Madrid with 59 points and Real Madrid with 57 points.

In Italy's Serie A, leader Juventus edged out Empoli 1-0. They are strong at the top of the league with 78 points.

Runner-up Napoli beat Roma 4-1 to reach 63 points, 15 points from the top spot.

In Germany's Bundesliga, Borussia Dortmund defeated Wolfsburg 2-0 to regain the top spot while reigning champions Bayern Munich drew Freiburg 1-1.

The leader Borussia Dortmund have 63 points while the runner-up Bayern Munich have 61 points.

In France's Ligue 1, leader PSG beat Toulouse 1-0. The runner-up Lille defeated Nantes 3-2.

PSG are very strong at the top of the league with 80 points, followed by Lille with 60 points, and Olympique Lyon with 56 points.
