SpaceX's Starship Completes Critical Test Flight for Moon Missions

SpaceX successfully conducted the eleventh test flight of its Starship megarocket from Boca Chica, Texas, marking another milestone in developing the reusable spacecraft for NASA's Artemis lunar program. Acting NASA Administrator Sean Duffy hailed the achievement as "critical for our Artemis missions" in a social media statement, emphasizing its importance for returning Americans to the Moon's south pole. The development comes amid intensifying space competition, with Duffy explicitly noting the importance of "beating China back to the Moon" as both nations target crewed lunar landings by 2027.

The latest Starship Version 2 prototype completed its second consecutive successful test after three previous missions ended in failure.
