Aselsan's TUFAN Kamikaze unmanned surface vehicle entered Turkish waters for the first time on Thursday at TEKNOFEST Blue Homeland, debuting at the Golcuk Naval Shipyard Command in the country's northwestern Marmara region.
The high-tech vessel, developed by Turkish defense giant Aselsan, was unveiled to the public during the opening day of the four-day expo. "The TUFAN Kamikaze USV, which changes the rules of the game in naval warfare, is in our waters for the first time," the company said on Turkish social media platform NSosyal. The vessel represents a significant addition to Türkiye's unmanned naval systems inventory, designed for precision strike capabilities against surface targets.
Naval expo showcases Türkiye's capabilities
The premier naval defense event, which runs through Sunday at the Golcuk facility, features Anadolu Agency as its global communications partner. Exhibitors are presenting a wide range of defense products including naval platforms, unmanned systems, aircraft, air defense and missile systems alongside underwater technologies.
Various platforms and systems reflecting Türkiye's technological capabilities at sea are being showcased to visitors throughout the four-day exhibition. The event highlights the country's advancing indigenous defense industry and its growing portfolio of unmanned maritime assets.
