PKK/YPG terror group attacks mosque in northern Syria: Source

The PKK/YPG terror group targeted a mosque Thursday in the Ulashli village of Al-Bab district in northern Syria, according to local sources.

The terrorists used rocket launchers to fire on the village. The homes of civilians were damaged but no casualties were reported.

Approximately 200 families had to migrate to the center of the district.

A resident who gave his name only as Abdullah, told Anadolu that the Omar bin Khattab mosque was damaged during the attack.

“Ninety percent of the civilians in the village had to leave their homes towards Al-Bab center,” he said.

The Al-Bab district center was cleared of the Daesh/ISIS terror group during the Euphrates Shield Operation in February 2017.

In its more than 35-year terror campaign against Türkiye, the PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Türkiye, the US, UK, and EU -- has been responsible for the deaths of nearly 40,000 people, including women, children and infants. The YPG is its Syrian branch.

In 2013, Türkiye became one of the first countries to declare Daesh/ISIS a terror organization.

Türkiye has since been attacked by the terror group multiple times, with more than 300 people killed and hundreds more injured in at least 10 suicide bombings, seven bomb attacks and four armed attacks.

In response, Türkiye launched anti-terror operations at home and abroad to prevent further attacks.
