Trump administration launches CBP Home app for voluntary deportation

The Trump administration on Monday announced a new mobile app, CBP Home, allowing undocumented immigrants in the US to voluntarily leave the country rather than risk detention and deportation.

The app, developed by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), replaces the Biden-era CBP One app, which previously allowed migrants to schedule asylum appointments at ports of entry. On his first day in office, President Donald Trump shut down CBP One, canceling all pending appointments.

Now repurposed as CBP Home App, the app includes an “Intent to Depart” feature, which lets users notify the government of their decision to leave, US Customs and Border Protection(CBP) said in a statement.

"The app provides illegal aliens in the United States with a straightforward way to declare their intent to voluntarily depart, offering them the chance to leave before facing harsher consequences," said Pete Flores, acting commissioner, US Customs and Border Protection.
