Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis presided over the signing of wide-ranging bilateral agreements spanning investment, maritime transport, disaster preparedness, culture, and technology. The sixth High-Level Cooperation Council meeting produced a joint declaration and concrete steps to deepen neighborly ties.

Türkiye and Greece have formalized a series of bilateral accords following high-level consultations in Ankara, marking tangible progress in the normalization of relations between the two neighbors. President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis co-chaired the sixth meeting of the Türkiye-Greece High-Level Cooperation Council, culminating in a signing ceremony for multiple agreements across diverse sectors.

Economic and Maritime Connectivity

A memorandum of understanding establishing cooperation frameworks between Türkiye's Presidential Investment Office and Enterprise Greece was signed by respective officials Burak Dağlıoğlu and Haris Theoharis. A separate accord aims to facilitate Ro-Ro ferry services connecting İzmir and Thessaloniki ports, enhancing maritime trade links. The two deputy foreign ministers also formalized enhanced collaboration within the Black Sea Economic Cooperation mechanism.

Disaster Management and Cultural Exchange

Interior Minister Mustafa Çiftçi and Greek Climate Crisis Minister Ioannis Kefalogiannis signed a memorandum on strengthening joint earthquake preparedness and response capabilities, reflecting shared seismic risks. Culture and Tourism Minister Mehmet Nuri Ersoy and Greek Culture Minister Lina Mendoni formalized cultural cooperation, while Industry and Technology Minister Mehmet Fatih Kacır and Development Minister Takis Theodorikakos signed a joint declaration on scientific and technological collaboration.

Strategic Framework

Erdoğan and Mitsotakis additionally signed a Joint Declaration between the two governments, consolidating the positive trajectory initiated during the December 2023 Athens summit. The comprehensive package demonstrates both nations' commitment to translating improved political dialogue into functional cooperation across multiple domains, setting foundation for continued engagement on outstanding bilateral matters.
