Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan

Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan will convene a meeting of seven Muslim nations in Istanbul to address the Gaza ceasefire and humanitarian situation. The gathering aims to coordinate regional responses to Israel's genocide and discuss Palestinian administration of Gaza.

Türkiye will host a significant diplomatic gathering on Monday as Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan welcomes counterparts from six Muslim nations to discuss the ongoing situation in Gaza. The Istanbul meeting will bring together top diplomats from the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Qatar, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Jordan to coordinate regional positions on ceasefire implementation and humanitarian assistance.

High-Level Regional Diplomacy

The ministerial meeting represents continued coordination among the same seven countries that previously met with US President Donald Trump during September's UN General Assembly sessions. According to Turkish diplomatic sources, the discussions will focus specifically on recent developments following the October 10 ceasefire agreement and the deteriorating humanitarian conditions in the Gaza Strip. The gathering underscores Türkiye's active diplomatic role in mediating regional war.

Addressing Ceasefire Challenges and Humanitarian Crisis

Minister Fidan is expected to strongly criticize what Turkish officials characterize as Israeli attempts to create pretexts for ending the current ceasefire arrangement. Diplomatic sources indicate the Turkish foreign minister will emphasize that the international community must maintain firm opposition to what he terms provocative actions by Tel Aviv. The meeting will also address critical shortages in humanitarian aid entering Gaza, with Fidan expected to stress that Israel has failed to meet its obligations regarding assistance delivery.

Coordinated Muslim World Response

The Istanbul discussions aim to strengthen unified action among Muslim nations to transform the current ceasefire into sustainable peace. Minister Fidan will highlight the importance of Palestinian assumption of security and administrative responsibilities in Gaza while protecting legitimate rights and advancing the two-state solution vision. Participants are also expected to coordinate their approaches within United Nations platforms to maintain international pressure for a comprehensive resolution to the situation.
