Experts say Trump will resign as Russia investigation draws closer
Allegations claiming that the U.S. President could soon resign are increasing. Keith Olbermann, a U.S. political analyst, predicted that Trump’s resignation could come at any moment.
“For a while now, I have thought the Trump presidency would end suddenly,” Olbermann said on the latest edition of his series “The Resistance.”
Olbermann said that he believed Trump would resign when the investigation led by Robert Mueller researching Trump’s campaign connections to Russia drew closer.
“For weeks now I have been anticipating that Trump’s last day in office will dawn like all the others, and then around dinnertime it will suddenly break that he is about to resign,” he said.
Olbermann is not the only one speculating about a Trump resignation.
Tony Schwartz, American journalist and co-author of Trump’s renowned book “The Art of the Deal,” said “Trump is going to resign and declare victory before Mueller and Congress leave him no choice.”
Schwartz continued, saying that he would be “amazed if [Trump] survives till end of the year.”
Former Vice President Al Gore is also on the list of top officials who see a Trump resignation on the horizon. When asked to give Trump one piece of advice, Al Gore said “Resign.”
Donald Trump came to office on Jan. 20, 2017 as the 45th president of the United States.
