Palestinian fighters say they have killed 15 Israeli soldiers in one hit
The Ezzedine al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, said that at least 15 Israeli soldiers were killed when Hamas struck a building, which was sheltering Israeli troops in Farrahin, east of Khan Younis in southern Gaza, according to a statement released on Wednesday.
The Brigades said there were more than 20 Israeli soldiers inside at the time the building was flattened and the bombing also left dozens of others seriously injured.
After the assault, an Israeli military aircraft was seen landing near the building, levelled by Hamas bombs, to carry away the IDF's casualties, a Palestinian witness said.
Hamas' military wing said it has killed more than 120 Israeli soldiers since thousands of Israeli troops launched a ground offensive into the densely-populated Strip on July 7. However, Israeli army said only 60 soldiers have been killed during Operation Protective Edge.
Israel announced a four-hour humanitarian ceasefire in the Gaza Strip on Wednesday after destroying the second UN school within one week. However, the ceasefire was claimed to have been declared in order to lift the casualties in Khan Yonis.
