Hezbollah announced it carried out 32 attacks against Israeli settlements, troop positions, and military sites on Saturday, while air raid sirens sounded 19 times across northern Israel. The group said the attacks came "in defense of Lebanon and its people" amid continuing Israeli strikes on Lebanon since March 2. An Anadolu count puts Hezbollah attacks at 1,455 since March 2.

Hezbollah said on Saturday that it had carried out 32 attacks against Israeli settlements, troop positions, and military sites, while air raid sirens sounded 19 times across northern Israel. The group stated in successive announcements that the operations came "in defense of Lebanon and its people" amid ongoing Israeli attacks on Lebanon that began on March 2. According to an Anadolu count, Hezbollah has carried out 1,455 attacks since March 2.

Targets of the attacks

Hezbollah said it targeted the settlement of Kiryat Shmona three times and Metula once, in addition to troop gatherings near Yiftah barracks, the Al-Sammaqa site, and several other settlements in northern Israel. The group also reported striking ten military sites, including the Meron and Shraga bases, Liman barracks, artillery positions in Avivim and Yir'on, and infrastructure in Safed.

Israeli media reports sirens

According to Israeli media, sirens sounded 19 times across wide areas of northern Israel from early Saturday due to Hezbollah rockets and drones. The cross-border exchanges come amid escalating regional hostilities.

Background of escalation

Israel has pounded Lebanon with airstrikes and launched a ground offensive in southern Lebanon since a cross-border attack by Hezbollah on March 2. Lebanese authorities have reported that at least 1,422 people have since been killed and 3,294 injured in Israeli attacks. The escalation coincided with a joint US-Israeli offensive on Iran, which has killed more than 1,340 people since February 28. Iran has retaliated with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel and US bases in Gulf countries.
