Innocent kids used in dirty Mideast policy: Turkis
Turkish Prime Minister says relations with Israel can not be normalized unless its persecution in Gaza comes to an end.
Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said relations between Israel and Turkey can not be normalized unless Israel's persecution in Palestinian territories comes to an end.
"Israel has terrorized Palestine. Israel's terror is now ahead of individual terror and has turned into a state terror," said Erdogan, in his speech to his party's group meeting on Tuesday. "Israel has carried out these assaults during every Ramadan. Around 200 Palestinians fell martyred in the Israeli strikes. The victims are mostly women and children. On one hand, Israeli army tanks have bombed people; on the other hand Israeli soldiers have made celebrations. What kind of humanity it is," rebuked the Turkish PM.
When touching on the Egyptian-brokered ceasefire in the week-long conflict, Erdogan said, "The Egyptian proposal for ceasefire between Israel and Hamas has been a positive step and a valuable attempt,"
"However, it is understood that innocent Palestinian children's blood has been used in the dirty politics of the Middle East once again."
Erdogan also criticised the international community for their failure to give a strong response to Israeli agression, in which 194 Palestinians lost their lives over the last week. "I am calling on Europe. Why are you remaining silent? I am calling on Islamic world. How long will you be staying silent while your brothers and sisters have been brutally killed?" remarked Erdogan, adding that not only Palestinian children but also global justice and global conscience have died in Palestine.
"Israel has continued to terrorize the region and any country other than Turkey has not said stop for these assaults. We are those who believe in God, not political balances," he said.
Erdogan also called on Israeli people to object to their state's oppression and slaughter against Palestinians. "Let Israeli people see just how unreal the excuses are, and just how disproportionate these attacks launched with these unreal excuses are," he said.
