Iran claims strikes on US radar and defence systems in Kuwait and Bahrain

Iran's military has claimed responsibility for a new wave of strikes against US military assets in Kuwait and Bahrain, targeting radar and air defence systems. According to a statement by Fars News Agency, the operation struck radar systems, Patriot batteries and fuel storage tanks at Kuwait's Ali Al Salem Air Base, while drones targeted communication and radar infrastructure at Bahrain's Sheikh Isa Air Base.

Separate IRGC Operation and Escalating Conflict

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps also claimed responsibility for a separate attack in Kuwait, targeting a C-RAM early warning radar and an assembly area for US personnel at the same base. The strikes represent the latest escalation in the conflict between the two sides, which has intensified over control of the Strait of Hormuz, a vital oil shipping route.

Diplomatic Efforts Overshadowed by Military Action

The attacks come despite a Pakistani-mediated memorandum of understanding signed by Iran and the US, which was intended to end the conflict and establish lasting peace. The ongoing military exchanges, including US strikes on Iranian targets and Tehran's retaliatory operations, underscore the fragility of the diplomatic process and the deepening crisis in the Gulf region.
