Palestinians continue to live in makeshift shelters set up amid the rubble of destroyed residential buildings after two years of ongoing attacks at Shati Camp in Gaza City, Gaza on November 24, 2025. Families struggle to meet basic needs while enduring harsh cold weather conditions.

The Israeli army has conducted new demolitions and artillery strikes in Gaza, reportedly targeting residential areas in Gaza City and Khan Younis. These actions occur amid a nominal ceasefire, with Palestinian authorities reporting ongoing casualties, including two deaths from an unexploded ordnance in Gaza City.

Israeli military forces have carried out further demolitions and artillery shelling in sections of the Gaza Strip under their control, continuing operations despite an existing ceasefire agreement. Witnesses reported the destruction of multiple homes in the Shujaiya neighborhood of Gaza City and artillery fire in eastern Khan Younis.

Civilian Casualties and Unexploded Ordnance

Palestinian civil defense authorities reported that two individuals were killed and several wounded in Gaza City's Al-Nasr neighborhood when an Israeli explosive device detonated inside a residence. The incident highlights the ongoing dangers to civilians from remnants of war in populated areas of the Gaza Strip.

UN Diplomacy and Mounting Toll

At the United Nations Security Council, Palestinian envoy Riyad Mansour stated that the Israeli army has been killing an average of two Palestinian children daily since the ceasefire began on October 10. He reported the total number of killed and injured since the truce took effect has reached approximately 1,000 people, according to his statements.

Overall War Death Toll

According to figures from Gaza's Health Ministry, Israeli military actions since the start of the ceasefire have resulted in at least 342 fatalities and nearly 900 injuries. The broader war, ongoing since October 2023, has claimed nearly 70,000 lives in Gaza, with a majority being women and children, and has left critical infrastructure throughout the enclave in ruins.
