Muslim girl takes selfie in protest of anti-Islam rally

Selfie taken by a young Muslim lady wearing hijab, standing proud in front of a crowd of far-right Flemish nationalists protesting the Muslim Expo, went viral on social media
Zakia Belkhiri, 22, photographed herself, or took a selfie, to protest the anti-Islam rally held in Antwerp, Belgium, with the far-Right Flemish nationalist group Vlaams Belang in the background in protest of the Muslim Expo.
Photographer Jurgen Augusteyns published photographs taken of Belkhiri as she was taking her selfie.
The young lady, who has been declared a hero on Twitter for her action, says she is proud of what she did.
Belkhiri's photo has had thousands of shares.
