A sixth victim of alleged food poisoning passed away in Karachi after five members of her family died
27-year-old Bina Badruddin passed away on Saturday morning after five children from the same family died of suspected food poisoning in Karachi earlier on Friday.
She was on the ventilator after being rushed to the hospital by her brother, Pakistani local media reported.
The children, aged 2 to 9, had dined with their family at a popular restaurant in Karachi on Thursday night and they were all hospitalized later that day.
“Police are tracking down samples of all the food that the family had consumed on their journey from Quetta to Karachi,” a senior police official said.
Pakistani police have detained at least 32 people from three different places and collected 33 samples for the Karachi University Laboratory.
The final cause of deaths will come to light once the medico-legal officer files their report.
