Azerbaijan to hold clinical trials for Turkey’s homegrown Covid-19 vaccine

Speaking during a cabinet briefing, Musayev said that technical issues are currently being ironed out
The third phase of clinical trials of Turkey’s homegrown COVID-19 vaccine, Turkovac, will be held in Azerbaijan, Baku’s Health Minister Teymur Musayev said on Thursday.
Speaking during a cabinet briefing, Musayev said that technical issues are currently being ironed out.
“The protocols were handed over to the working group,” Musayev said. “Additional information on this issue will be disclosed.”
Turkey’s landmark Turkovac vaccine was developed in collaboration with Erciyes University in the central Kayseri province and the Health Ministry's Turkish Health Institutes.
With Turkovac, Turkey joined the ranks of only nine countries able to produce a vaccine against COVID-19, which has claimed the lives of millions worldwide.
