The Turkish military has announced the number of PKK terrorists killed over the past 11 days
At least 140 terrorists were neutralized and more than 73 terrorists were injured in airstrikes carried out by Turkish warplanes between April 29 and May 19, the General Staff said on its official site in a statement.
Turkish military aircraft have frequently struck Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) targets inside Turkey and in northern Iraq. PKK has suffered heavy losses from the raids on both sides of the Iraq-Turkey border.
The strikes against PKK camps resumed on July 24 of last year after two police officers were found dead in the southeastern province of Şanlıurfa.
The PKK claimed responsibility for the slayings, which were in reprisalfor a suicide bombing which left more than 30 people dead in Suruç town. They called off a ceasefire that had held since 2013 and resumed attacks.
Officials in Ankara said it was impossible to continue the reconciliation process with “those who threaten national unity and brotherhood."
Turkey, the EU and the US regard the PKK as a terrorist organization.
