The prime minister warns that the supply of weapons to terrorist organizations will not be tolerated in any way
Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu said Wednesday that Turkey would never overlook the cooperation of Russia and the U.S. with “terrorist organizations" waging war on Turkish territory.
Davutoğlu, who spoke to reporters at a joint news conference with his Bulgarian counterpart Boyko Borisov at Istanbul's Lütfi Kırdar Congress Centre said: "Nobody can guarantee that the weapons, supplied to the Democratic Union Party (PYD) will not fall into the hands of the PKK, just as the weapons, supplied by the U.S. military to Iraqi soldiers with good intentions, were seized by ISIL in the past."
“Turkey would never tolerate the supply of arms. Turkey would never allow the supply of arms. We would never allow the stock of arms to cross into the region," he asserted.
Davutoğlu also vowed that Turkey will continue to fight the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) and its off-shoots just as the U.S. administration fought al-Qaida's affiliates while battling al-Qaida terror network itself. “Our stance regarding the terrorist organizations fighting against Turkey is clear and final. Russia and the U.S. have been already informed of this approach," he said firmly.
When asked about the terror investigation into Saturday's bombings in Ankara, Davutoğlu said no one should have the slightest
doubt
that the
assailants, involved in this malicious attack, will
soon be captured and brought to justice with the heaviest punishment possible.
“Those, who have planned these attacks and taken a back seat, will certainly be punished, regardless of their connection in the orchestration of this fatal incident," the prime minister vowed.
Citing the most recent intelligence reports, Davutoğlu described PKK and ISIL as the organizations, most likely to have an active role in these bombings.
“We have seen that they are the two organizations that could have had an active role in the bombings, while the investigation was digging deeper into the attacks," he said, in reference to the most recent police findings through some IP addresses and messages posted on Twitter just a day before the incident.
