Turkish President Erdoğan slams Syria's Assad for killing 336,000 civilians, all the while claiming to be Muslim
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan blamed Syrian President Bashar Assad for spreading state terrorism and stated that 336,000 civil Syrians have been killed by the “killer."
“There is one person who killed his citizens and is continuing to spread state terrorism, while he claims to be Muslim," said Erdoğan pointing to Assad.
He also criticized the groups fighting in Syria.
He said the Syrian crisis can be solved in consultation and called on the Muslim world to do more to stop the violence.
“We are one nation, we are brothers, this is what is dictated in the Quran and Hadith, we don't have a right to deny this order."
He said a brother was killing another brother in Syria while chanting “Allahu Akbar" and asked “What kind of Islamism is this?"
“We should to know that global system can't find a solution of this" said Erdoğan and called on Muslim world for consultation.
Erdoğan said his country is ready to do everything to end the Syrian conflict and highlighted that Turkey is hosting about 2.2 million Syrians who fled their war-torn country to escape the conflict that has been ongoing for the last four-and-half years.
