More than 10 killed as bus crashes into bus stop in Ankara

Over 10 die and eight wounded in bus accident in Turkey's capital, brake failure is blamed

At least 12 people were killed in Ankara when a public bus struck a crowded bus stop, after its brakes failed.

According to initial reports, eight others were injured in the accident which took place in Ankara's Cebeci Dikimevi district.

Paramedics and fire crews rushed to the scene after the accident. The injured were taken to nearby hospitals.

Paramedics' efforts are still underway on the spot.

After the bus crash, the Health Ministry declared one of the injured is in critical condition.
