Syrian media reports explosion in Damascus, investigation underway

Explosion heard in Mezzeh neighborhood in Damascus, local media says

An explosion was reported in the Mezzeh neighborhood of the Syrian capital Damascus on Wednesday evening.

The Syrian Arab News Agency SANA (SANA) said the nature of the blast was being investigated.

The state-run Alikhbariya TV said security forces have cordoned off the site after the explosion.

No information was yet available about injuries.
